Your Rights

As a person who has DACA you are entitled to all of the legal protections available to all other persons in the United States. (See previous discussion on this site.) You should carry your documents on you at all times and should you encounter an officer of USCIS you should not do more than show them your documents. You should ask to speak to your lawyer before talking further with the official, this is your right under the U.S. Constitutional.

You should not leave the U.S. unless before leaving you have been issued a special travel document called “Advance Parole.” Your DACA status does not give you an automatic right to return and re-enter to the U.S.
